The historic town, known as the gateway to Acadia National Park, plays host to more than two and a half million visitors every year, with most coming to enjoy hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding through the community’s automobile-free roads. The area has been a longtime favorite for celebrities and business moguls, but visitors from across the world come to the island to enjoy the scenery, shopping, and wildlife. Our 3D nautical wood map captures the incredible topography of northern Maine, including points of interest such as Acadia National Park, Trenton, Blue Hill Bay, and Bar Harbor.
Each of our nautical wood maps begin with a bathymetric map to measure the depth of water around the island’s shorelines. Once the Baltic birch layers are complete, the water is hand-stained blue green and the landmarks and other important points of interest are engraved into the lake art’s surface. The lake art is finished with a custom wood frame and durable, ultra-transparent acrylic to safeguard it for years to come.
