Silver Lake was originally named Lake Kratochvil, so called from a local town called Kratochvil’s Plat (now a ghost town!). Sometime in the 1900s, Silver Lake became the more popular name and by 1965, the name was official as the Silver Lake Improvement Association was created for the care and preservation of the lake.
This 3D wood map is made of high-quality Baltic Birch. Each piece is laser-cut with precision to visually detail the depths. Once cut, each piece is glued together and hand-stained to reflect the majestic blue of the water. The name and location of points of interest are etched into the wood and clearly reflect the highlights of the Silver Lake area. The nautical map is finished off with a solid wood frame and protective acrylic glass.
