Sandy Hook is the northern-most part of the Jersey Shore and home to the oldest operating lighthouse in America. Over two hundred years old, this light still serves as the beacon for ships coming in and out of New York harbor. Sites, including Fort Hancock, have provided both protection and tourism to the North Shore area for decades.
The bathymetry of the water bordering the shore is intricately detailed on the nautical wood map and offers clear insight into the depths of the harbors and cays. Each piece is expertly cut and glued together, hand-stained to a beautiful blue to recreate the depths of the water. Each point of interest is etched into the Baltic Birch and allows your eyes to wander through the water, visually appreciating the locations you visited on land or by water. A solid wood frame surrounds the nautical map, and it is protected by acrylic glass.
Journey back to the beaches of the New Jersey North Shore as you gaze at your extraordinary nautical wood map.
