This barrier island is located off the west coast near Sarasota and “Little Sarasota Key,” as it was then known, was initially only able to be reached by ferry or boat. A bridge was built to connect the island to the mainland in 1917 and the bridge was upgraded in 1927. The entire key was officially known as “Siesta Key” by 1952.
This 3D wood map displays the bathymetry of the surrounding waters in intricate detail. The depths of the water and details of the coast are expertly etched in Baltic Birch and completed with engraved points of interest. The nautical wood map is finished with a custom frame and arrives ready to hang.
